What you’ll be working on

We’re looking for senior/lead designers to tackle rich, complex problems across the healthcare landscape: from getting insured, to consulting doctors, getting treatment, visiting a hospital and beyond.

You’d be leading design in one of our four product areas. You’ll be discovering new challenges in UX research, working closely with a product manager to shape the product strategy, and set a great example to other designers with the best and most meaningful work of your career.

Here’s some of the specific problems we need your help with.

  • How do we facilitate quality relationships between users and healthcare workers?
  • How do we build a healthcare system so good that people trust our service with every aspect of their health?
  • How do we help our users make healthcare proactive, instead of reactive? How could our app encourage behaviours that prevent the health problems of the future?
  • How can users quickly access tests and treatments, with minimal effort?
  • How do we build a design system that truly reflects our vision, and the quality of care we offer?
  • How do we deploy consistent, high-quality design across all our touchpoints - designing for patients, doctors, and administrators?
  • How can we reduce the admin burden: take messy, paper-based admin processes and simplify them into fast, low-effort experiences?

About you

  • We’re looking for seniority and experience: you’ll have around 3+ years in designing high-quality digital products.
  • You have mentored or managed other designers, and you’re looking for the next stage of your career - to master your craft or to start managing and guiding others.
  • You’ll have excellent skills across the board: strategy, research, UX, and UI.
  • You’re comfortable talking the language of business: you’ve had a major impact on the strategy of your products, and are as comfortable influencing executives as you are working with engineers.
  • You’re an exceptional communicator. You know how to tell a story about the impact of design, and know how to make complex issues clear to people.
  • You value the written word as much as you do design, especially in the era of asynchronous work.
  • You’re experienced in zero-to-one, not just delivering designs. You’re obsessed with finding out what value means to users, and guiding a product to further growth.
  • You’re not precious about your work: you’re flexible of mind and prepared to throw away work that’s not providing value.
  • You understand how to work in a startup environment: you know how to ensure quality even when the organisation is scaling fast.
  • As we’re building a world-class team, you’ll be an exceptional talent in both UX and UI, hungry to keep learning, and always striving for excellence.

The hiring process

  • If you’re selected, you’ll have an initial call to meet you, with someone senior in the product or design team
  • You’ll then go through multiple interviews, with people from the design, product, engineering, and executive teams.
  • They’ll ask you about things like: your craft, research, product, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.
